The perfect Father's Day? We reckon it's got steam coming out of it.
Give Dad the Father's Day he actually wants this year — not another pair of socks, not a supermarket gift set — a proper, brilliant, steamy day out for the whole family!
This Father's Day, our legendary little steam engine Pectin is firing up and ready to roll along a real stretch of Great Western Railway history. Watch Dad's face light up like a kid at Christmas as he climbs aboard a genuine working steam locomotive. And yes — you can ride again and again and again. Nobody's counting!
Just turn up, pay at the gate, and let the good times roll. No booking, no faff, no stress — just pure family fun from the moment the gates open at 10:30am.
The train rides start at 11am and keeps going until 3:50pm — so whether you make a morning of it or roll up after lunch, there's plenty of day left to enjoy.
And while Dad's busy grinning from ear to ear, there's loads to keep everyone happy:
- Steam train rides — treat Dad to a ride behind a real working steam loco. Go on, ride it twice. Three times. Nobody's judging
- Diesel cab experience — let Dad (or the kids!) feel like a proper train driver for the day. An absolute crowd-pleaser every single time
- Model railway — tiny trains, big smiles — a guaranteed hit with little ones
- Real railway history — explore fascinating exhibits and displays, including the incredible Chard signalling panel

Wheelchair users are very welcome — our coach is fully accessible via ramp, so the whole family can share the ride together.
